Public Service Affirmed as a Core University Ideal

Harvard Undergraduates teaching at The Allston Education Portal provide science enrichment opportunities this semester through a new partnership with the Gardner after school program at Harvard University.

• Hosted a university-wide public service week in October consisting of a variety of events and activities relating to service and outreach, such as a Public Service Career Fair and conversations with such public servants as Geoffrey Canada, head of the Harlem Children's Zone
• The Harvard Alumni Association launched a new portal, "Public Service on the Map" that allows students, alumni, faculty and staff easy access to a worldwide web of opportunities to serve the greater good
• New Presidential Public Service Fellowship announced which will allow ten students from across the University to spend a summer working with a public service organization of their choice or on a service project of their own creation.
