The New Arts Initiative

The first arts related performance of the The Common Spaces Chairs Project, a Harvard University initiative designed to encourage community building in and around Harvard Yard, takes place in front of Dudley House. Performers include members of the Freshman Arts Program, HRDC students, and the ART Instigators performance troupe.

• A long-term, comprehensive initiative in the arts that will expand opportunities, especially curricular offerings, across the spectrum of the arts
• The New College Theater recently opened, adding to an already vibrant theater scene
• Harvard's on-campus museums are also undergoing renewal, providing additional opportunities for "hands-on" learning
• The expansion of arts and humanities resources enables students from all disciplines to place their values, lives and future plans in a broader perspective
